Machinist

For many years, Meldrum Mechanical Services, Inc.has been providing timely support to various industries. From lime plants, factories and shipping docks to every industry in between. Our specialty is to provide custom machining and repair to all local industrial facilities. Meldrum Mechanical Services, Inc. is looking for motivated machinist. We provide CNC and Manual machining for our customers.

Candidates are required to:

  • Have previous experience with CNC/Manual machines.
  • Be able to use and properly maintain measuring instruments
  • Have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • G & M code experience.

  • Century Turn (Retrofit Cincinnati) VTL
  • Large Turning Lathe
  • RTM 100 Bed Mill

As part of the continued growth of current and future projects, Meldrum Mechanical Services is a 24/7 service company that requires an experienced Welder/Millwright to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of various welding techniques, including TIG & MIG
  • Weld and fabricate parts as needed
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems 
  • Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flus-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
  • Perform grinding, chipping and other metal preparation tasks prior to welding
  • Inspect welds and ensure they meet quality standards
  • Field work is required

 

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Millwright or in a similar role
  • Proficiency in safety protocols, including wearing heat resistant gloves, flame resistant clothing, protective masks and safety footwear
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to work with precision measuring instruments
  • Experience with stick welding is a plus
  • Certifications a must, we also provide annual training.  Additional consideration will be given to candidates with: professional certifications, successful completion of apprenticeship

  • 8 hour shift
  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • Weekends as needed

3 Years Welding Experience Required

3 Years Mechanical Knowledge Required

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Welding certification required
